The European breakdown assistance provided by Ferry Europe is available for Cars, Vans, 4x4, Motorcaravans and vehicles with trailers. Please read the insurance policies for further details relating to the specifications of your vehicle to ensure that your vehicle is covered.

1. What are the differences between Single trip and annual policies ?

The main difference between the two policies, is that single trip cover, as might appear obvious, is for just one journey. Annual trip policies allow unlimited number of journeys per year. Another important difference, is that you are limited to only 31 days travel per trip with the annual policy, even though this permits you to travel numerous times throughout the year. Single trip policies on the other hand can be purchased, within reason, up to any duration for a single journey. If you require cover for a journey over 31 days, you will only be able to get cover with single trip European breakdown cover.

2. What are some of the exclusions for European breakdown cover ?

During the checkout process, you will be asked a number of questions (these are not exhaustive and you must read the full exclusions within the policy document), four of these questions are below:

  • 1. Does your journey begin and end when you are in the UK ?
  • 2. Is the Vehicle permanently registered in the UK ?
  • 3. Will your vehicle be roadworthy at the start of the trip ?
  • 4. Has the vehicle been serviced, maintained and operated as recommended ?

In order to be able to proceed with the purchase of cover, you must be able to answer "yes" to the above questions.

3. Do your insurance policies have excess charges ?

No. None of our breakdown cover policies have excess charges.

4. Why do you sell two different policies, one using the Green Flag and the other, Allianz global assistance ?

The main reason that we sell two different covers, is that they each have slightly different territorial limits. There are slightly different levels of cover between the two policies, and so you would need to refer to these for the specific differences.

5. Do your policies include repatriation of your vehicle to the UK ?

Yes. In the event of a breakdown and the inability of the local garage or assistance company to repair this prior to your return journey, repatriation of your vehicle will be provided if the cost of repatriation costs less than the cost of the vehicle.
